INDUCTEES OF USCHI HALL OF FAME

Perry & Candice Hoffman - (2014)

Hoffmans still helping farmers "hit the high note" after 42 years

Perry and Candice Hoffman of Bowdle, S.D., are continuing the history of Perry's harvesting family. Perry's father, Milton, along with Perry's uncles, formed the solid foundation for this harvesting family.

Perry knew at an early age that harvesting was his calling. In his late teens, he began building his harvesting crew with 6600 John Deere combines and trucks. Candice was described in the convention video as being the true essence of a harvest woman. She could make meals out of anything, drove all the equipment and handled the paperwork while raising a 3-year-old in an old camper with no air conditioning.

Hoffman Harvesting has been a family-owned business for 42 years and has been a part of USCHI since the organization began in 1983. Perry was even a star in USCHI's first safety videos.

In the past, Candice has been a member of the USCHI scholarship committee, and Perry has served on USCHI's Board of Directors.

"Harvesters are lucky because we hit the high note of every farmer's year," Perry said. "We're there just in time to make their hard work into cash, and it doesn't get better than that."
