The U.S. Custom Harvesters Hall of Fame
INDUCTEES OF USCHI HALL OF FAME
Carl Rodgers - (2014)
Rodgers' career focus: Help harvesters, keep them safe
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Carl Rodgers of Phillipsburg, Kan., took advantage of the GI Bill of Rights to earn a degree from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan.
He earned a certificate as a casualty claims investigator and began a rewarding career in the insurance industry.
With a passion for safety, Carl's firm, Rodgers and Associates, has helped many harvest families through its Harvest Insurance Outreach division.
"I learned that people and family suffer during times of trial," Carl wrote in a thank you letter to USCHI after learning of his induction into the 2014 Hall of Fame.
"I learned that accident and death are not statistics; they are individuals, and if we can prevent their serious injury, then we need safety training."
Carl admires USCHI for its focus on harvesters and the professional family enterprise.
"Having a simple, clearly defined goal can capture the imagination and inspire pas-sion," he wrote.
"It can cut through the fog like a beacon in the night. Hard work, clear direction and sharing with the world are the rewards of being a USCHI member."
Carl is now retired, but his daughter Kim and her husband, Tracy Beach, continue Rodgers and Associates, focusing as always on safety and helping those in the custom harvesting industry.
