INDUCTEES OF USCHI HALL OF FAME

Bruce Neufeld - (2007)

Bruce went to high school in Inman, Kansas and graduated from Bethel College. He worked as a custom harvester with Abe E. Neufeld & Sons and Neufeld Brothers Harvesting, both of Inman. Bruce also owned Bruce’s Woodworking. As a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Bruce served as a Sunday School teacher and participated in many church committees. He also attended area Christian Bible studies, supported Christian programs, and highly supported his nieces and nephews activities. Bruce passed away on February 17, 2006.

Bruce is remembered by people for all his many wood projects, which include small and large furniture, craft items, etc. These were made for fellow harvesters, friends at John Deere Company, local businesses, and other friends and family. Some of the items include the USCHI Conference Table. Also, a small Texas plaque illustrating the wet weather of 1992 at the start of harvest. These plaques were made for other harvesters during the long wait for sunshine.

Bruce amazed people with his ability to operate combines in spite of his physical limitations. These limitations included a small stature and limited lung capacity due to scoliosis. His particular attitude contributed to the growth of the harvesting business he was a part of. Bruce’s faith in God left an impression on all the customers and friends that he met though his lifetime of harvesting experience.
