U.S. Custom Harvesters, Inc. ("USCHI," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you visit uschi.com, create an Account, apply for or maintain membership, use our member directory and job/crew matching tools, register for events, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Site" and "Services").
This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into, and should be read together with, our Terms and Conditions. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account and Membership Information: name, business/crew name, mailing address, email address, phone number, username and password, membership category, and dues/payment status.
Payment Information: billing address and payment card or bank details, which are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. USCHI does not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
Directory and Profile Information: business information, service area, equipment, crew size, certifications, and other details you choose to include in a public or Member-only directory listing.
Job Postings and Matching Information: crew availability, client job requests, acreage, crop type, location, and related details submitted to use the job/crew matching tools.
Communications Preferences: your choices regarding email, text/SMS, and phone communications, and any information you provide when you contact us for support.
Event and Convention Registration: registration details for the annual convention or other events, including dietary or accessibility needs you choose to share.
Other Information You Choose to Provide: content submitted for Harvest News, podcast guest information, scholarship applications, photos, testimonials, or survey responses.
Certain Services referenced on the Site (for example, H-2A or J-1 visa program support) may involve additional identity, work-authorization, or immigration-related information.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: we and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (including Google Analytics) to operate the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
Payment processors and financial institutions, to confirm and process dues and fee payments.
Other Members, clients, or event partners, when they refer you, respond to a Posting, or provide information about a shared transaction.
Publicly available sources, such as business registries, when verifying membership eligibility.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and administer your Account and membership, including processing applications, dues, and renewals;
Operate the member directory and job/crew matching tools, and facilitate connections between Members, clients, and service providers;
Send transactional communications, such as billing notices, renewal reminders, and Account security alerts;
Send Marketing Communications, including Harvest News, event announcements, sponsor offers, and legislative advocacy updates, consistent with your communication preferences and applicable law;
Process event and convention registrations, and administer the scholarship program;
Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including analytics, security, and troubleshooting;
Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and protect the rights, property, and safety of USCHI, our Members, and others; and
For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time information is collected, or with your consent.
3. Marketing Communications and Your Choices
3.1 Email
You may opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in each message, or by contacting us at [email protected]. We may still send transactional or membership-administration emails necessary to service your Account.
3.2 Text Messages (SMS)
If you opt in to receive text messages, message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying "STOP," or reply "HELP" for assistance. We use ClickSend to manage these communications, consistent with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and other applicable law.
3.3 Phone
If you provide a phone number, we or our representatives may contact you regarding your membership, event registrations, or Services. You may ask to be placed on our internal do-not-call list by contacting us at [email protected].
3.4 Directory Visibility
If you do not want certain profile or business information to appear in the public or Member-facing directory, you may adjust your listing preferences in your Account settings or contact us at [email protected].
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as keeping you logged in, remembering preferences, measuring Site traffic, and delivering relevant advertising for USCHI and its sponsors. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to such signals, the Site does not currently respond differently based on a Do Not Track signal.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information as follows:
Directory and Matching Visibility: profile and posting information you submit to the directory or job/crew matching tools is shared with other Members, clients, and, where you have elected a public listing, the general public, as part of the intended function of those Services.
Service Providers: we share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as Stripe (payment processing), MailChimp (email/SMS delivery), web hosting providers, and analytics providers, under confidentiality and data protection obligations.
Sponsors and Advertisers: where you have consented (for example, by entering a sponsor-run contest or promotion), we may share limited information with the relevant sponsor or advertiser.
Legal and Safety Reasons: we may disclose information to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or protect the rights, property, or safety of USCHI, our Members, or others.
Business Transfers: information may be disclosed and transferred to a successor organization in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets.
With Your Consent: we may share information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, administer your membership, comply with our legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. As a general matter, we retain Account and membership records indefinitely. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information for longer periods for analytics and historical record-keeping (such as Harvest News archives).
7. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. 8. Your Privacy Rights
8.1 General
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to know or access the categories and specific pieces of information we hold about you, the right to request correction or deletion of your information, the right to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and is not directed to children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete that information promptly. The Site may contain links to third-party websites, payment portals, or social media platforms that are not owned or controlled by USCHI.
