Greetings Y'all! I'm 54 yrs old w/CDL-A, doubles, triples endorsements. I've got 6.5 yrs OTR Flatbed experience w/JB Hunt, Charger and McElroy. I'm a US Army veteran. My kids are grown and on the wind, I'm divorced. Thanks to the economy I've been unemployed since March. All the places I've applied to so far have told me to come back this Fall. Then I remembered something my dear departed Father mentioned about wheat harvesting, so I thought I'd look it up on the net. If you're looking for a truck driver, I'm your man. I've got years of good experience over the road, no accidents, and no tickets for over 10 years. I've had a lot of experience with heavy equipment, maintenance, and long hours in the worst of weather. I smoke, but can go without for the sake of safety, I like a beer now and then, but I don't get drunk. I own a travel trailer with a good pulling vehicle. I'm willing to go anywhere, anytime. Contact me at Lawrence.Allen@uah.edu or call me at (256) 486-1519. I'm mature (but sort of senile), easy going, willing to learn, ready to help in any situation under any conditions. Cordially, Lawrence

I am a professor of agricultural engineering doing research on logistics systems for biomass energy. We have been in contact with a local power plant that is interested in co-firing their boiler with switchgrass and bermuda. I would like to talk with some custom harvesters in the central Texas area who have the ability to harvest these grasses. We are interested in looking at both chopping with a forage harvester and baling/grinding. I can be contacted at s-searcy@tamu.edu or 979-845-3668

I am interested in starting a custom harvesting operation, or getting on with an existing operation to build on their crew size. I am in the central Texas area, and would prefer to stay busy through harvest within a 500 mile radius of the Waco area. I currently do not own the equipment, but was wondering if anyone could let me know any options out there for leasing, and if that is a viable option. I grew up farming, but haven't since graduated from TAMU (bring on the aggie jokes) with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Any advice on getting started would be appreciated.
